Smoking and smoking habits in elementary school children
Pochmanová, Petra ; Braniš, Martin (advisor) ; Hůnová, Iva (referee)
According to WHO a smoking of cigarettes and other tobacco products is the second most common cause of dead worldwide and the fourth most widespread risk factor causing life threatening diseases. Smoking has also certain social impact. While in the nineteenth century and at the beginning of twentieth century it was considered to be some kind of characteristic for a specific social level. At fall of twentieth century harmfulness of smoking and it's connection with lung carcinoma and other illneses was proved. Four milions people die every year owing to tobacco smoking. My bachelor work considers problem of smoking in 2 aspects. Literature retrieval which is the main part is focused on the history and prevalence of smoking and smoking conventions in the Czech republic and in the World. It describes prevalence of smoking with respect of age, sex, educational level, geographical specifics, and other social and cultural determinants. Practical part of the work is questionary research which was accomplished among second grade students at primary schools. Its objective is to answer specific question regarding smoking of children and their parents. Research was carried out at selected primary schools in Bilina. For instance our principal interestest were numbers of regulary smoking children and what age they...
Palaeocology of plant-arthropod associations from the Lower Miocene of the Most Basin in northern Bohemia (Czech Republic)
Knor, Stanislav
Terrestrial plants and insects account for the majority of the Earth's biodiversity today, and almost half of all insect species are herbivores. Thus, insects and plants share ancient associations date back for more than 400 million years. However, investigation of their interactions stands largely at the beginning in Western Europe. Nearly 4300 plant remains showing various kinds of feeding damages are available for the present study. These trace fossils are classified as so-called functional feeding-groups supply an outstanding example of the complexity, the structure and the changes of terrestrial ecosystems, are not well known during this interval. In Europe, the Neogene is characterized by palaeogeographic re- organization due to the collision of the African with the Eurasian plates. The Neogene plant record in Europe is rich and diverse offering a profound large-scale understanding of the floristic and vegetational development. A database of fossil traces from the Most Basin was compiled and analyzed by various statistical methods in terms of the diversity and intensity of palaeo-herbivory. The primary objective is to present results on the development of insect herbivory through the section of the Bílina Mine in North Bohemia, with the aim of understanding principal factors that caused the...

Changes of ecosystem loads in longitudinal profile of anthropogenic polluted river
Kohušová, Kateřina ; Tonika, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Cajthaml, Tomáš (referee) ; Komínková, Dana (referee)
Disertační práce Změny zátěže ekosystému v podélném profilu antropogenně ovlivněného toku Kateřina Kohušová Changes of ecosystem load in longitudinal profile of antropogenically influenced river ABSTRACT To determine anthropogenic load of the Bílina river ecosystem we monitored concentrations of selected heavy metals (As, Cd, Hg, Pb, V, Zn) and specific organic substances (PAH, PCB, HCH, HCB, DDT) in three different matrices: surface water, biofilms and sediments. In the longitudinal profile of the river, four sampling profiles were determined (B1 - B4), mapping different parts of the river. The monitoring took place from 2005 to 2008. Concentrations of the substances monitored in surface water showed a decrease in load compared to the values from ten years ago. The concentrations found in surface water showed clear tendency of pollution in the longitudinal profile; the load increased downstream and profiles B3 and B4 mid- and downstream had the highest concentration. In the case of some concentrations of substances in surface water there is a trend of the majority of values being below the detection limit by the given methods of analysis. This shows a decrease of load in the river but the positive trend was invalidated by variations in maximum concentrations. Even though these variations were rare and...
The coexistence of natural healing mineral water spring "Bílinská kyselka"with other town activities in Bílina - technical and legal aspects.
Votava, David ; Trpáková, Ivana (advisor) ; Pavlíčko, Alois (referee)
This bachelor´s thesis The coexistence of the natural healing mineral water spring Bílinská kyselka with municipal activities in Bílina - the technical and legal aspects is an evaluation of the development of use and protection of the natural healing mineral water spring Bílinská kyselka and its conflicts with coal mining, transport and urban development. It deals with this issue from the viewpoint of the history of water catchment, legislation, binding documents and forward-looking concepts. It identifies the most important aspects and tries to propose solutions.
Vodohospodářské řešení rekultivace a revitalizace Podkrušnohorské uhelné pánve
Hydroprojekt a.s., Praha ; Chour, Vladimír
Cílem projektu je vymezení vodohospodářských podmínek a a stanovení optimálního postupu pro rekultivaci zbytkových jam po těžbě uhlí tzv. mokrou cestou a získání podkladů pro rozhodování státní správy - povolování odběrů povrchových vod k napouštění zbytkových jam, časový režim, minimální zbytkové průtoky a požadavky na jakost odebraných vod. Zpráva předkládá principiální přístupy k řešení a přináší postupové zprávy ze dvanácti dílčích úkolů: DÚ 01 Podrobné vodohospodářské řešení celé oblasti, DÚ 02 Podklady pro rozhodování státní správy, DÚ 03 informatika pro životní prostředí, DÚ 04 Analýza a upřesňovaní hydrologických podkladů v povodí Ohře a Bíliny, DÚ 05 Bilance podzemních vod v povodí Ohře a Bíliny, DÚ 06 Hydrobiologické a ichtyologické aspekty, DÚ 07 Tvorba krajiny povodí Ohře a Bíliny, DÚ 08 Aktualizace a komplexní digitalizace území CHOPAV Krušné hory, DÚ Vypracování koncepce a organizace monitoringu kvality vody a protihavarijní zabezpečení plnění důlních jezer povrchovou vodou, DÚ 10 vypracování a ověření matematického modelu zjednodušené hydrografické sítě, srážko-odtokových vztahů a přítoků do jezer, DÚ 11 Inventarizace potřeby zatápění jiných jam po těžbě (kaolin, kamenivo) a DÚ 12 Zabezpečení návaznosti (kompability) s informačními systémy budovanými MŽP ČR a MZe ČR.
Vodohospodářské řešení rekultivace a revitalizace Podkrušnohorské uhelné pánve: Principiální přístupy k řešení
Hydroprojekt a.s., Praha ; Svoboda, Ivan ; Chour, Vladimír
Vodohospodářské řešení rekultivace a revitalizace Podkrušnohorské uhelné pánve: Podrobné vodohospodářské řešení celé oblasti
Hydroprojekt a.s., Praha ; Kos, Zdeněk ; Broža, Vojtěch
